Gina Rinehart remembers 'dear friend' Lady Flo
AUSTRALIAN mining magnate and philantropist Gina Rinehart paid a final visit to long-time family friend Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen on Monday.
Following the news of her death, Mrs Rinehart said Lady Flo was an extra special lady and one of the finest people she knew.
"Lady Flo will be remembered by many as a very kind, thoughtful, considerate, fair, decent, honourable and hardworking,” Mrs Rinehart said.
"And to those who knew her, a true and wise friend, who we were extremely fortunate to know.
"She certainly made me love my visits to Bethany and Kingaroy, as I'm sure she did for many many others too.”
During her visit on Monday Mrs Rinehart, Lady Flo and members of the Bjelke-Petersen family sat around singing Christmas carols.
"One of my many favourite memories of my dear friend will be her singing in fine voice, knowing every word ... with her son John and I around her bedside. This beautiful memory is one I'll treasure throughout my life,” Mrs Rinehart said.
"Lady Flo was loved by many Australians.”
