Adam Goodes works on form and fitness in reserve grade

SYDNEY Swans star Adam Goodes will spend another week in the reserves in a bid to improve his form and fitness.

The dual Brownlow medallist (pictured) elected to play a full game in the NEAFL last weekend rather than start Sydney's match against the GWS Giants as a substitute.

He gathered 30 possessions and kicked three goals in a losing side, but Swans coach John Longmire said the 35-year-old would again be in the reserves team that will take on the Gold Coast Suns in Mackay on Saturday, rather than the senior team that will play Fremantle in an Anzac Day blockbuster in Perth.

"He's not playing in Perth this week," Longmire told reporters.

"We didn't discuss specifically how long he would play reserves, we just wanted to be sure he was in good stead. He had a good hit-out last week and he'll have a good one this week. He will get another opportunity to work on form and fitness."
