Great Aussie awards haul for Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby
THE Great Gatsby cleaned up at last night's AACTA Awards, winning 13 of its 14 nominations.
The big-budget adaptation of the classic novel was named Best Feature Film and director Bazz Luhrmann was named Best Director.
The glittering third annual awards (formerly the AFIs) were held at The Star Event Centre in Sydney, with Sam Worthington walking the red carpet with his new flame, model Lara Bingle.

Jacki Weaver accepted her previously announced Raymond Longford Award, with co-stars including Jack Thompson, John Waters, Claudia Karvan and Bradley Cooper (via video link) paying tribute to the film and TV veteran.
During her acceptance speech for the lifetime achievement award, the ever-humble Weaver joked that she wasn't sure if she deserved the accolade, but she certainly wouldn't be giving it back.

In the television categories, Nine's two-part mini-series Power Games - The Packer-Murdoch Story took home three awards including Best Direction and Best Lead Actor for star Lachy Hulme.
TV dramas Top of the Lake, Offspring and Redfern Now were also recognised.
