Great results for Go Getta Girls
KINGAROY'S Go Getta Girls tested their endurance levels once again by taking part in the 10th annual Warwick Pentath-run.
Members of the Kingaroy-based women's distance running club to compete in last weekend's Pentath-run included Donna Clark, Jenni Farr, Colleen Gunn, Betty Jay and Jo Sellick.
The Warwick Pentath-run is a 42.2km marathon divided into five events over two days.
Each event is a different type of race held at a different location in the Southern Downs, with runners having the option of taking part in any or all of the events.
The five events included a half-marathon undulating course, a challenging 4.6km cross country course, a 5km fast flat run, a 10km ascending run and a 1500m dash to the finish.
Donna Clark competed in all five events and placed in the top 10 in each race and seventh overall in her age group. Jenni Farr registered personal bests and placed in the top 10 in each of the four events she participated in.
Colleen Gunn took part in three events finishing sixth in the 10km ascent and eighth for her age group in the half marathon.
Jo Sellick competed in three events placing top 20 in her age category overall while Betty Jay finished ninth in her age group in the half marathon.
The Go Getta Girls also had the chance to meet former Olympian Steve Moneghetti who won each event he entered on the weekend. The girls found the legendary runner both modest and inspirational.
