Gregory Highway reopened after rain, water still on the road

6.30am: THE Gregory Highway north of Emerald has been reopened after heavy rain in the area left water on the road.

There is still water over the road, according to the latest advice from the Department of Transport and Main Roads, but is now accessible by vehicles.

This advice was issued at 10pm last night.

BREAKING 8PM: THE Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised the Gregory Highway 8km north of Emerald is closed due to water over the road. 

Emerald has seen significant rain fall today.
