Gympie school boys busted with pot at school

POLICE have urged Gympie school students to report "suspicious activity" at their school after two boys were busted smoking marijuana at school this week.

Police said the two boys aged just 11 and 12 On Tuesday November 10, a two boys "from a local school" were caught committing the offence on Tuesday of this week.

"Thanks to another young student being brave enough to report the incident, the two boys, aged 11 and 12-years-old, were detained by teachers after allegedly being caught smoking and possessing cannabis in the school grounds," police said.

Police were contacted and attended the school where they spoke with the boys.

This matter is still being investigated.

"Drugs or alcohol in schools will not be tolerated by teachers or the police and those found committing such offences will be dealt with accordingly," the police said.

"Police encourage students to report any suspicious activity at their school to a teacher/staff member."
