‘Struggling’ Bieber treated for depression

JUSTIN  Bieber is being treated for depression as the troubled singer is said to be "struggling" with mental health issues.

People is reporting that Bieber's condition is not related to his marriage to Hailey Baldwin - now known as Hailey Bieber - and that the 24-year-old had been "down and tired".

"He has been struggling a bit," a source told People.

"It has nothing to do with Hailey - he is very happy being married to her. It's just something else that he struggles with mentally.

"He has good help around him and is receiving some treatment. He seems confident he will feel better soon."

A separate source told People that Bieber struggled with being in the public eye.

"He's emotional and struggles a lot with the idea of fame - being followed, having his every move stalked by fans, cameras in his face," the source said.

"It all sets him off and he often feels like everyone is out to get him."

Last week, the couple appeared on the cover of US Vogue, revealing intimate details about their sex life and claiming marriage was "hard work".

Bieber told Vogue he had a "legitimate problem with sex" and claimed he and Baldwin didn't sleep together until they were married.

The couple tied the knot in a New York courthouse in September after dating for 12 weeks - and more than a decade after first meeting.

Bieber revealed had been celibate for more than a year when he ran into Baldwin, 22, at a church conference in Miami last June, rekindling their past romance.

The Sorry singer opened up about being a sex addict, saying after being "super promiscuous" for a time, abstaining from sex helped him feel closer to God.

"My mum always said to treat women with respect. For me that was always in my head while I was doing it [being promiscuous], so I could never enjoy it," Bieber told Vogue, in a joint interview with Hailey.

"[God] doesn't ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff. He's like, 'I'm trying to protect you from hurt and pain.' I think sex can cause a lot of pain."

The superstar said he believes Hailey was a karmic reward for his more pure lifestyle.

"I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behaviour," Bieber added.

The singer said seeing his now-wife again last June made him realise how much he "loved" her, despite going through a rough breakup when they briefly dated years ago.

"When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life," Bieber recalled. "I was like, 'Holy cow, this is what I've been looking for.'"

In the joint interview, Baldwin admitted she was lonely the first few weeks after becoming the singer's wife because of the nasty comments about her relationship being posted on social media.

"I prayed to feel peace about the decision [to get married], and that's where I landed," she said. "I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time."
