Heat and humidity to stick around in the South Burnett

BUREAU of Meteorology has forecast another hot week for the South Burnett with a peak of 37 degrees expected in Kingaroy on Friday.

Bureau media spokesman Jess Carey said that the forecast for the South and North Burnett are basically the same.

"There is a chance of showers and storms on Saturday and Sunday," Mr Carey said.

"The temperature should be dropping to around 30 degrees on the weekend."

"The only problem with the weekend is that humidity wont decrease with a lot of moist air sticking around."

Most of the south east is expected to be very humid leading into next week.

"People should be vigilant of that," Mr Carey said.
