Services rally to contain Nanango bushfire

Emergency services rushed to the scene when a bushfire broke out in Nanango this afternoon, January 19.

The bushfire near McGillivray Road in South Nanango started at 2.35pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and HQ Plantations worked together on the scene, while firefighters undertook backburning operations to contain the fire.

QFES advise that the bushfire posed no threat to nearby properties.

QFES also warn that residents may be affected by smoke and are advised to close windows and doors.

There are curently no emergency vehicles on the scene as of 6.09pm.
