Heroes and villains to do battle at charity dinner concert
LISTEN to the tunes depicting some of the greatest battles the silver screen has ever shown at the Heroes, Villains and Freddie Mercury Charity Dinner.
The South Burnett Community Orchestra will play famousfilm scores at the charity dinner for drought support on Saturday, September 14.
Events co-ordinator Caz Dingle said it would be a thrilling night for Marvel, D.C. Comics and pirate fans alike.
"It's always heaps of fun for the musicians and the audience,” Ms Dingle said.
The first violinist said the music was challenging, but very accessible for audience members.
"It's a really fun night and it would be enjoyable for people who enjoy orchestral music and are new to it,” Ms Dingle said.
The concert is a fundraiser for the QCWA Public Rural Crisis Fund, which is used to help farmers and rural communities.
"It's really important to support people in rural communities affected by different circumstances,” Ms Dingle said.
The night will also feature performances by the newly formed SBC Young Orchestra and SBCO Singers.
Listen out for a special moment when the SBCO Singers join forces with the orchestra to create a unique, powerful sound.
Judy Crawford will be catering the dinner and the bar will be run by the Kingaroy Lions.
"The food is always amazing,” Ms Dingle said.
The charity dinner will be held in the Kingaroy Town Hall on Saturday, September 14 at 6.30pm.
Tickets cost $60 and are available from Kingaroy Office Central or www.trybooking.com/BDBSC.
