How you can honour missing South Burnett residents

RESIDENTS across Australia will leave a light on tonight in memory of the 2600 long-term missing people in Australia and as a symbol of hope for their families.

Suzie Ratcliffe started the Leave a Light on initiative in 2015 in memory of her sister Joanne who was kidnapped from Adelaide Oval in 1973.

After Joanne's disappearance, their parents would leave the front porch light on every night in the hope that if she came home, she would know they were waiting for her.

Forty years on, the search for Joanne continues.

Two South Burnett residents are registered as long-term missing persons, which according to the Queensland Police Service means they are people whose whereabouts are unknown and police have fears for their safety or welfare.
