HUGE NEWS: Location named for Kingaroy's Big Peanut

WE ARE a step closer to building a Big Peanut with the Kingaroy Want's A Big Peanut Committee confirming a future location for the large legume.

The committee was approached by the Kingaroy Bowls Club, a long-standing not-for-profit club based in Kingaroy for over 80 years.

An area at the front in the club's grounds has been offered and Big Peanut spokesman, King Roy believes this to be an excellent opportunity to provide the community with a monument in his honour to represent the history of our beautiful vibrant region.

"The club, located adjacent to the Rail Trail and the Australian Country Way inland Tourism route, offers established car and caravan parking facilities with loads of room for expansion and already has suitable facilities to support groups of visitors and hold community events as well as offering dining opportunities,” King Roy said.

"This location will offer visitors and locals alike with the opportunity to pull up for a snap shot of the Big Peanut, relax and stay a while too.

"The Big Peanut will not only support an existing community club that is running as a not for profit organisation, it will also offer a focal point for visitors coming through the region.

"The Kingaroy Needs a Big Peanut committee is excited to have the opportunity to join forces with the Kingaroy Bowls Club and will form a sub-committee to develop a way forward and coordinate fundraising initiatives to make King Roy's dream a reality.”
