Human remains found after Port Douglas house fire

POLICE are investigating a fatal house fire which occurred in Port Douglas late yesterday.

Around 10.30pm, police were called to the Saint Crispins Avenue address after a neighbour heard the smoke alarm coming from the house.

The fire was brought under control by emergency services, and human remains were located inside.

Inquiries are being conducted to identify the remains.

Investigations are continuing and there is no further information available at this time.
