Identifying issues along mine transport route
PLANS are under way to visit residents and businesses along the proposed transport corridor route for the Kingaroy coal mine.
Kingaroy Concerned Citizens Group and several members of the Tingoora and Murgon communities will meet after Easter with those who will be directly impacted, and want to put signs along the route to alert communities of the company's plans.
A transport corridor, either a non-stop coal rail line or a slurry pipeline has been proposed by Moreton Resources to transport coal from the Kingaroy coal mine.
The group have been working with experts and requested studies to confirm the value of the koala colony and the vegetation in the affected area, to ensure these are appropriately addressed in the environmental impact statement expected to be released by Moreton Resources this month.
If you might be impacted by the transport corridor, and would like to be part of the project contact email@example.com.
