CENTRAL Queensland indigenous people's objections to the Carmichael mine have been overruled based on the miner making "fraudulent" claims, a court has heard.
The Brisbane Federal Court heard on Monday the Wangan and Jagalingou people were appealing Native Title Tribunal's decision to allow the mine despite local objection.
It is the latest legal challenge the proposed Galilee Basin mine has faced with owner Adani also facing legal challenges from environmental groups.
Speaking before court Wangan and Jagalingou spokesperson Adrian Burragubba said Adani claims the mine would create thousands of jobs had been disproved in the Queensland Land Court and had "mislead" the Native Title Tribunal.
Mr Burragubba said the Wangan and Jagalingou people had also made a submission to the United Nations special rapporteur for indigenous people.
In court Adani's legal team objected to Mr Burragubba claiming he spoke for the entirety of the Wangan and Jagalingou council and questioned the relevance of some of his submissions.
The hearing continues.
