Car bonnet warns motorists of speed camera van

POLICE were called to Youngman St on Monday after a concerned citizen told them someone interfered with a speed camera operation.

Police said someone spray painted the words 'speed camera' on the bonnet of their car a short distance away from where a speed camera van was positioned.

Kingaroy Police officer in charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said it was an offence to interfere with a speed camera operation.

A 21-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with obstructing police for his behaviour towards police when they arrived at the scene.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court in January next year.
