FORMER Member for Bundaberg Jack Dempsey has a new career on the go - as a real estate agent.

Mr Dempsey has joined brother Michael as a sales agent and says he's looking forward to a change of pace at Michael's Real Estate.

"It's good working with my brother and I've got all the knowledge of the place," Mr Dempsey said.

He said one of the things he was most looking forward to was showing people the best of Bundaberg.

"I think that people would like to see that Bundaberg is a positive place to come to," he said.

"If I can help somebody be happy with something then spend the rest of their life in Bundy that's great."

Mr Dempsey said he'd be selling everything from small blocks of land to large homes - but the job wouldn't be without a little sibling rivalry.

"I'm used to setting goals and there's a bit of brotherly rivalry on that," he joked.

"Whatever it is we'll make it an enjoyable experience for people involved."

Mr Dempsey said he was also keeping busy coaching junior football and being involved with the community.
