Jazz dancers to perform at Disneyland
FEW Australian children get to go to Disneyland and fewer still get to perform there.
But come December a host of Kingaroy Dance Academy students will make the trip.
Academy principal Kirsten Canniford said about 20 of her students would jet off to the USA to participate in a dance tour in California in December.
"I'm nervous and excited all at once,” Ms Canniford said
"The students and myself have worked very hard for it,” she said.
"We are the first dance school in the South Burnett to be offered this grand opportunity, and a for a small country town it truly is amazing.
Last year Ms Canniford sent audition tapes to the Disneyland Performing Arts and other franchises in America and they accepted last month.
Dancers aged 7 to 14 will perform at Disneyland, Universal Studios and on the Hollywood boulevard.
They will also participate in the Disneyland Christmas parade and a workshop at the Abby Lee Dance Academy, which is featured in the TV show Dance Moms.
Kingaroy Dance Academy will hold its enrolment day on Monday from 3.30pm to 6pm at the studio in Gooyong St.
