Justine Jones' accused murderer 'infatuated' with her

A SUNSHINE Coast party girl allegedly met a "violent end" at the hands of a man who was "infatuated" with her.

Richard Peter Coburn, 29, has pleaded not guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court to killing Justine Jones, 22, and dumping her body in a wheelie bin.

Crown prosecutor David Meredith alleged in Brisbane Supreme Court that Coburn killed her "out of jealousy".

He said Justine was "very pretty and attractive to men", that she had seen several men while still socialising occasionally with her former boyfriend, Coburn.

Mr Meredith said intimate photos of Justine dancing with one such beau had disappeared from the Alexandra Headland unit where she was living the same time she went missing.

He said that beau and Justine's flatmate were the last two people to see her on the night of the third State of Origin match on July 7, 2010.

They saw her with Coburn.

Justine's body was found at the Nambour tip more than a week after she died wrapped in the doona cover missing from her room.

She was crushed so badly by a compacting garbage truck that a cause of death was never determined.

The trial continues.
