Kane able to get Spurs back on track

FOOTBALL: A first-half hat-trick from Harry Kane has helped Spurs climb to second in the English Premier League with a 4-0 home win over Stoke.

Tottenham is still 10 points behind Chelsea but this result showed if the Blues do slip up then Maurico Pochettino's men are ready to step in.

The Spurs manager hailed Kane as one of the best strikers in the game as he notched his 100th goal for the club with the first of his three goals.

It was the 23-year-old's second hat-trick in a wekk following his treble against Fulham in the FA Cup.

Kane also set up Dele Alli for the fourth goal as Stoke was blown away in the first 45 minutes.

"It's true that today Kane was fantastic, a hat-trick and a fantastic performance," Pochettino said.

"He's one of the best strikers in Europe and I'm very pleased for him because he deserves it.

"He has big potential to improve, he's still very young. He works hard every day, he's professional."
