Karen is icing on the cake for RSPCA
BAKER Karen Ford single-handedly delivered 300 cupcakes in just 10 hours.
"The trick is to freeze them so you aren't making them from scratch," she said.
Before retiring two years ago Ms Ford, a professional baker, ran her own business making wedding cakes.
For three years she's been baking and donating the cakes to the RSPCA for Cupcake Day.
Last year she donated 200 cupcakes but she got one up on herself this year, dishing out eight different varieties in 300 cupcakes.
"It's a good cause and I am appreciated," she said.
"And I am an animal lover and the RSPCA really makes a difference."
Ms Ford has been volunteering since she was 18.
"If everyone does something good for someone else and pays it forward, that makes our community a happy place."
The cakes Ms Ford baked raised $1070 for the RSPCA.
