Kilkivan rocks! Town hears new anthem

KILKIVAN'S own town anthem and music video was sweet music to the ears of the community last night.

In January, 'Small Town Culture' with the support of the University of Southern Queensland opened the door for passionate communities across the country to take part in a Facebook competition to be immortalised in song by Golden Guitar winner Josh Arnold.

With more than 100 towns in the running, tiny Kilkivan, with a population of around 690 people, received 3000 votes on Facebook to claim the prize.

And the result... a country rock song bursting with town pride.

The song and music video was launched to a packed Kilkivan Town Hall last night.
