Kingaroy man adds fuel to flame during Christmas rampage
A KINGAROY man has pleaded guilty to three charges of stealing after going on a petrol looting rampage around Christmas last year.
Benjamin Stolzenberg, 34, appeared on Monday, September 30, in the Kingaroy magistrate's court to face the charges.
Police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi told the court within 11 days Mr Stolzeberg managed to steal petrol from three separate fuel stations.
"The first charge was on December 22 from BP Goodna of $78.70,” Mr Gangemi said.
"The second charge of stealing, which was the drive-off from Ryke Fuel at Kingaroy of $49.
"Charge three was stealing from BP Kingaroy was $78.”
Magistrate Louisa Pink said the defendant also broke a condition of bail he had entered into on November 30 last year at the Warwick Watch House.
He was convicted and not further punished, but was ordered to pay compensation to the total amount of petrol stolen from each of the three petrol stations.
