Kingaroy man fined for driving 80km/h in 60 zone

A KINGAROY man copped a $261 fine and three demerit points for speeding 20km/h over the limit on First Avenue.

The 49-year-old driver of a Nissan Navara was intercepted by police travelling at 80km/h in a 60 zone at 10.20am on February 9.

This is one of 17 fines Kingaroy police handed out for life-endangering traffic offences between February 4 and 10.

A Nanango motorbike rider was fined $261 and docked three demerit points for speeding 17 km/h over the limit.

Police intercepted the 58-year-old man travelling at 97km/h in an 80 zone on Redmans Rd, Kingaroy, at 11.37am on Tuesday, February 5.

Police charged a 42-year-old Kingaroy man at 10am on January 8 for testing positive to a Roadside Drug Test.

The driver of a Toyota Targo was intercepted on Youngman St where he returned a positive test.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 25 for allegedly driving with relevant drug in system.

A 39-year-old Kumbia man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on the March 25 charged with a positive result to a Roadside Drug Test.

Police intercepted the man driving a Mitsubishi 380 on William St at 1.40pm on January 10.
