Kingaroy show not rained out

RAIN or shine, the Kingaroy Show is set to go ahead with fireworks, side show alley, trade displays and all pavilions at the weekend.

Kingaroy Show president Cliff Seiler said the wet weather would not put a damper on the weekend's event and urged people to go.

"It might be a bit wet under foot but there'll still be fairy floss spinning and hot dogs cooking," Mr Seiler said.

He said the show was full steam ahead with Gary Barron's train rides, and much more.

"Truck and ute shows are still on, trade displays, the wood chop and split post all still on," he said.

Mr Seiler said the freestyle motorbikes would still go ahead, as well as the flower, cake and pork competitions.

He said side show alley and entertainment for the kids were also on track.

"The atmosphere's still going to be great," he said.

However Mr Seiler said the cattle judging, miniature horses, horses in the centre ring and the show jumping on Sunday had been cancelled.

The Kingaroy Show will open its gates at 8am on Saturday and Sunday.
