Your guide to Kingaroy Winter Craft Festival

THROUGHOUT June and July, the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is hosting its annual Queensland Winter Craft Festival.

It will be a huge two months for the art gallery as it will have numerous exhibitions running along with daily workshops.

The exhibitions are being run by South Burnett craft groups.

For June the two exhibitions are: Farm to Fashion by Alpaca Collective in the main gallery, and Not Your Granny's Mats by Judi Tompkins in galleries two and three.

In the art gallery corridor you will find Textile Art Wall-Hangings by Bec Andersen.

The South Burnett has really been treated this winter, with the Craft Festival being one of the largest events of its kind in Queensland.

Here is a breakdown of what is on over the next few days:

Friday, June 7

Pom Pom making and Community Weaving Project at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery. Both are free workshops and booking is not necessary.

Saturday, June 8

Introductory workshop - Dichroic Glass Jewellery. This workshop is $60 and must be booked through the Kingaroy Art Gallery. It will run from 9am to 3pm in the 1913 Council Chambers.

Woodcrafters Demonstrations. This will run from 9am to 12noon in the 1913 Council Chambers.

Sunday, June 9

Those involved in the Dichroic Glass Jewellery Workshop must pick up their art works from the Kingaroy Art Gallery in between 8am and 9.30am.

Monday, June 10

Alpaca Collective will be hosting a Spinning and Weaving Demonstration at the Kingaroy Art Gallery from 10am to 12noon.

A surprise artist will be hosting a come paint with us workshop at the 1913 Council Chambers from 9am to 12noon. This will be free of charge with no booking fee.
