MEET Kaiden Dominic Alexander Buckley, the first baby born at Kingaroy Hospital in 2018.

Kaiden entered the world at 4.03pm on Monday, January 1.

Kaiden arrived on his due date, marking the start of a new chapter for new mum Taylah Ewing.

She and Kaiden's father, Bjay Buckley, are very proud of the arrival of their healthy baby weighing eight pounds three ounces and 53 centimetres in length.

"I'm feeling really good, it is pretty amazing" she said.

"He is doing really well.

"It will will take a while to get my head wrapped around it but it will be good."

It was full circle for Ms Ewing who gave birth to Kaiden in the same room that she was born in.

Ms Ewing's mum, Kerry Ewing, is very happy with the arrival of her fifth grandchild.

"I am ecstatic because I was there for the whole process so it is pretty special," she said.

Kaiden was given his middle name Dominic in honour of Mr Buckley's late friend.

He was given the name Alexander after Ms Ewing's brother who died at birth.

Ms Ewing is looking forward to taking Kaiden home in Kingaroy and getting him settled.
