Kings Royal gearing up to be biggest yet
KINGAROY Speedway is gearing up for the biggest Kings Royal to date from January 25-27.
A field of 78 modified sedans have nominated for the three-day event with $10,000 on the line.
The field includes two-time former winner Greg Worling and defending champion Matty Smith.
Worling and Smith are two of nine former modified sedan national champions lining up for the race with Brett Baxter Aidan Raymont, David Smith, Max Clarke, Andrew Blackwell, Justin Drew and Gary Pagel all nominated to race.
If more than 73 of the nominated drivers take the track it will be the biggest Kings Royal since the inaugural event in 2013.
In addition to the Kings Royal support classes will races each night and the second Queens Royal winner will be crowned.
Drivers are eager to be part of the event with 27 production sedans and 31 street stocks nominated to race on the first night.
The best up-and-coming drivers will be in the spotlight on Saturday night with a field of 27 set to race.
The final night of racing will celebrate women in speedway with the racing of the Queens Royal.
The combined street stock and production sedan race will be contested by 35 drivers.
