EARLIER:  THE search has resumed for three people missing in dense bushland in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The bushwalkers hadn't been seen since they called for help after becoming lost in the Lamington National Park, near Binna Burra and the New South Wales border, about 6pm Sunday.

Emergency services launched a search and rescue mission but called it off overnight.

Police, paramedics, park rangers and State Emergency Service volunteers resumed the search from first light Monday.
