RACQ launches app for learner drivers

IT'S out with the old and in with the new for Queensland learner drivers after RACQ's launch of an online log book app.

The mobile phone app allows L platers to record their 100 hours of supervised driving, however Mackay driving schools haven't had many clients use it.

Business owner and instructor of Drive Wize driving school Ursula Wolfaardt said the program still needed a little "tweaking".

"I think technology is definitely heading that way," Ms Wolfaardt said.

"There's still a little way to go to make it easier to use though."

RACQ Group chief executive officer Ian Gillespie said they were committed to assisting Queensland's most vulnerable drivers to stay safe on the roads.

"The Learn2go app allows young drivers to learn the essential driving skills and to record their on-road experience in an efficient and practical way," Mr Gillespie said.

"Technology is impacting on all aspects of life and the mobile app is bringing the learner logbook process up to date."
