Lisa Curry engaged to Elvis impersonator

LISA Curry has announced her engagement to Elvis impersonator Mark Andrew Tabone.

The swimming champion, who lives on the Sunshine Coast, broke the happy news in gossip magazine, New Idea.

And apparently the 54-year-old has never been happier.

"I'm in my love bubble and no matter what happens or what people say, we are not going to let anyone burst our bubble," she said.

Tabone, who celebrated his 50th birthday in August, is also quite the romantic.

"We're still celebrating, and out of the blue Mark will look at me and ask me to marry him again. He is so sweet," Lisa said.

He apparently even designed the engagement ring himself.

But Tabone was all shook up when the Daily approached him for comment on the happy news.

"I'm not allowed to talk about it," he said.

He may have a few more words to say when he brings his popular Elvis show but to the Buderim Tavern this Friday.

The Melbourne born entertainer has taken his Elvis tribute show worldwide and has even toured with the Elvis Presley entourage including Joe Esposito and Linda Thompson.

Lisa was married to Ironman Grant Kenny from 1986 to 2009 and the couple have three children.

Tabone has four children.

The couple started dating in December, not long after Lisa broke up with her former boyfriend of five years, Joel Walkenhorst.

Joel beat Lisa to the engagement stakes, announcing in June he was tying-the-knot with Russian beauty, Ekaterina Oleynik.
