IT is one of Australian media's most enduring relationships - that of TV personality Lisa Wilkinson and rugby union great Peter FitzSimons.
Should there be any doubt about the strength of their bond, the couple declared their love for each other by renewing their vows in Sydney last night.
The fiercely private couple, who have three children, marked 25 years of marriage by walking down the aisle for the second time.
The only hint of the ceremony to the public was an Instagram post from Wilkinson, 57, stating: "We just got married ... again! #25years #25thanniversary #sohappy #Ido."
A group of friends, family and colleagues shared the moment at Balmoral's Bathers Pavilion. Wilkinson wore a Pallas Couture gown while FitzSimons was in a black tuxedo.
Among those who watched the loved-up pair say "I do" was Today's Sylvia Jeffreys and Richard Wilkins as well as Peter Stefanovic, Ben Fordham, Georgie Gardner, Mia Freedman and Jodie Speers.
In an Instagram video posted by Fordham, Wilkinson said: "It's been 25 years and that's how long I've had to make up my mind and the answer is 'yes.' "
Last year FitzSimons described their marriage as "a bloody good relationship". "We don't have 365 blissful days a year. I say we have 50 blissful days a year, 300 pretty good days and 15 shockers," FitzSimons said in a podcast.
In 2014, former Dolly and Cleo editor Wilkinson boasted of being the wife of a famous footballer at the Dally M Awards.
Fitzsimons played rugby for Australia before going on to having a successful career in media, writing multiple books.
"Forget magazine editor. Forget TV host. I am a WAG," she laughed. "I love saying, later in life, that I am a WAG. I am a frock queen."
