Little piggies go to the park for BaconFest fun
LITTLE piggies will be heading to the park for some family fun at breakfast time during BaconFest.
Kingaroy's Memorial Park will be filled with stalls of activities and food for the whole family on Saturday August 25.
Little Piggies in the Park coordinator Suzanne Mungall said the event was specifically catered to the younger bacon lovers, up to to 12 years old.
"We wanted to make this part of the festival, a family orientated activity that supported the community,” she said.
Families are encouraged to come to the park early from 8am to get breakfast and register their names for the free competitions.
"It's the perfect breakfast opportunity for the whole family,” Mrs Mungall said.
Half of the little piggy stalls would be offering bacon inspired breakfast options, such as bacon and egg burgers, bacon and maple syrup pancakes and pork or bacon pies.
"Come and eat a bacon burger with BaconMan,” she said.
Some of the stalls would give children an opportunity to make pig masks or get their face painted like a little piggy.
"You'll feel as happy as a pig in mud when you get to dress up,” Mrs Mungall said.
Free activities and competitions would be run in the park from the best oinker or dancer, to the top Leggo house made for one of the three little pigs.
Plenty of prizes will be in the running for the little piggies who get involved in the competitions, she said.
The little piggies event, running from 8am to 12pm, was designed to provide BaconFest activities suitable for younger children, with free or low-cost activities, providing free options for local and visiting families.
Family members could have breakfast before competing in the Railtrail Rashers Rush fun run leaving from the park, or head up to the BaconFest markets for lunch, Mrs Mungall said.
