NO ONE expected this result.

All eyes were on James Tedesco and Cooper Cronk, but it was a day to forget for the Sydney Roosters duo and their side as the Wests Tigers created a stunning 10-8 win at ANZ Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers suffered a huge blow in the lead-up to the game with Josh Reynolds suffering a serious hamstring tear in the captain's run and appeared their hopes had been dashed.

But Ivan Cleary's men showed incredible resolve to stay in the clash and score a late try through Corey Thompson which was converted by Tuimoala Lolohea on the sideline with 90 seconds on the clock.

While Luke Keary remained sidelined with a fractured jaw, the Roosters' spine never appeared to click.

Tedesco in particular had a shocker, producing three errors, the first coming in the 13th minute when he dropped the ball cold with the tryline open.
