AFTER years tucked away in an office at the back of Kingaroy's industrial estate, Mick Astill and his team of electricians are preparing to build a new workshop.
Once complete the building will be almost five times larger than the current holdings.
"Next month we're starting earth works and we're looking to be in April next year," Mr Astill said.
"The plans are all done."
At meeting on October 11 the South Burnett Regional Council voted unanimously to approve Mr Astill's development.
He said the new building was sorely needed.
"It's just the current office is too small," he said .
"We're growing and our business has expanded, we've branched out to the Sunshine Coast and we need more room for everything."
In the past year and half Mr Astill's staff numbers have ballooned from 13 to 18 and he said he wouldn't have any trouble filling the space.
"We're already at the size to support that size property," he said.
"A lot of people say the town has slowed up but you just have to look at the amount of contractors and tradesman around the place.
"There's been enough work around for the past eight years to support us."
