What is the one thing you would like to change about the world?
Properly equip every parent to provide an environment of love and care for their children and remove poverty so that the basics of food and shelter is available to everyone.
What is your greatest accomplishment in life?
To have been successfully employed every day since starting work at age 16. Firstly as a bank officer, then as the general manager of Bean Growers Australia Group of Companies (40 years) and now as deputy mayor of South Burnett Regional Council (seven years).
If you were the prime minister/ruler of the world what laws would you make?
Aim for an attitude among world leaders to restore harmony so that war will no longer exist.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Believe in the power of Almighty God and observe strong ethical principles - integrity, honesty and loyalty.
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are? And why?
I feel like 50 and ready to go the extra mile. There's a great pleasure in being able to work with people and various organisations in building the community we live in.
If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Turning unhappy lives into joyful outcomes. I have been fortunate to help an old friend connect with her daughter (then aged 65) whom she gave up at birth. That was a blissful experience to reunite mother with daughter.
What is your best childhood memory? What makes it so special?
Growing up on my parent's farm with my sister and three brothers in the little district of Benair. Staying connected to my family and the lifelong friendships of my primary school years.
What is the best sound in the world to you?
The laughter and happiness of our children and now having this repeated with our grand children.
If you could be transported back in time, where and when would you like to be?
I would like to start my teen years again with a stronger sense of the journey toward maturity.
