Lydia Ko retains world No.1 ranking after computer glitch
GOLF: A computer glitch means New Zealander Lydia Ko has kept her world No.1 ranking.
Ko missed the ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey and it was announced Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn had gone to the top of the rankings, but the LPGA Tour telephoned Ko and Jutanugarn after the tournament to explain the confusion and set the record straight, with Ko 0.01 points ahead of Jutanugarn, Reuters reported.
"Last week, we issued some projections which showed Ariya Jutanugarn taking over the No.1 spot in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings," the technical provider of the women's world golf rankings said in a statement.
"However, when official rankings were run this we discovered a bug in the projection tool."
