Gladstone to Bundy ferry service expected to start soon

TRANSPORTATION options in the region will expand in coming weeks as the Gladstone to Bundaberg ferry service makes its first voyage.

Originally expected to start at the end of February, the recent bad weather has been a setback.

Australian Hovercraft Services owner Ian Brookfield said there were a number of checks and balances that needed to be made.

"Whilst I am most keen to have the ferry service up and running at the earliest time, all checks and balances are critical to the success of the service," he said.

"I would rather have a few more days delay to ensure that is achieved."

The service will provide daily transport from Gladstone to Seventeen Seventy and Bundaberg. A round trip will cost $90.
