Man charged after police assault

Assaulting police

NANANGO police attended a residence on Nanango Tarong Rd in relation to a disturbance on August 17.

The 56-year-old man assaulted police whilst they were speaking to him in relation to the disturbance.

He was arrested and then transported to Kingaroy watch house and charged.

The man is due to appear at the Nanango Magistrates Court on September 20.

Drug driving

A WOMAN will face Nanango Magistrates Court on October 11 in relation to driving under the influence of dangerous drugs.

Nanango's road policing unit pulled her car over during a random drug testing on Drayton St on August 14.

The 60-year-old was charged after police conducted the drug test.

Unlicensed driver

A 46-YEAR-OLD Yarraman man was caught driving with a suspended license.

Nanango police had approached the man's vehicle on Beitzel Rd, South Nanango, for a routine driver's licence check on Wednesday August 15, at 11.40am.

He was charged and issued a notice to appear before Nanango Magistrates Court on August 30.

Expired license

AN OLDER Nanango resident was issued a traffic infringement notice for driving with an expired licence.

The 77-year-old man was asked to pull his vehicle over by Nanango police along Brisbane St, Nanango, whilst they were conducting a licence check on Thursday August 16 on 2.40pm.

Police checked his licence, which revealed the driver's licence had expired.

Dangerous drugs

A MAN has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils and driving under the influence of dangerous drugs.

Nanango police were conducting patrols along the Burnett highway, north of Nanango on August 18, when they conducted a random drug test for the 51-year-old man.

He produced a positive test result for being under the influence of dangerous drugs.

Police also searched the man's vehicle and located dangerous drugs and utensils used in conjunction with dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on September 20.

Stolen property

NANANGO police officers charged an 18-year-old man related to break-in at the Fitzroy Hotel on August 12.

An amount of property was stolen from the hotel and the man is currently remanded in custody for a further appearance in Murgon Magistrates Court on August 21.
