Man faces court on arson charges after Mt Kynoch fire

A 47-year-old man has been charged following a fire at a residence at Mount Kynoch on March 18.

Police will allege between 9.30 and 9.45pm a house on Dodson Crescent has several front windows smashed by a man before a fire was seen to be coming from the garage.

Emergency services and police were called and the fire was extinguished. There was extensive fire damage caused to the garage area of the house with the rest of the house receiving smoke damage.

No one was in the house at the time of the incidents and no one was physically injured as a result of the fire.

A 47-year-old Mount Kynoch man has been charged with one count each of arson and wilful damage. He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow Monday, March 21.
