Man injured trying to rescue two dogs in Elimbah house fire
PARAMEDICS have taken a middle-aged man to Caboolture hospital after he was injured trying to rescue two dogs from a house fire in Elimbah, an ambulance officer says.
The man had a bandage on his left hand and was covered in ash and what appeared to be blood.
The roof of the house on Wattlebird Dr, Elimbah, has collapsed after fire tore through the house at about 8.20am.
The house is extensively damaged.
Four fire crews and multiple police and ambulance are on the scene as smoke continues to blow from the roof.
Fire retardant foam drips from the building's blackened interior.
Police have set up a cordon at the end of the street.
Officer-in-Charge of Caboolture Ambulance Station Darren Darlington said no one was in the house at the time.
