Parole for man who rampaged after 'ranga' slur
A MAN who assaulted two others, knocking one unconscious, for calling him "a ranga" has been jailed for six months, but released on immediate parole.
Kane Brydon Seidel had pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm on Friday and was remanded over the weekend for sentencing yesterday.
Magistrate Ross Risson said "far too often the result is tragic for the person punched" in terms of alcohol-fuelled violence.
In addition Seidel was banned from all licensed premises in the Mackay CBD for 12 months and must pay the two victims $500 and $1200 compensation respectively.
