Man located safe and well after being 'bitten' by snake

RACQ CQ Rescue, Mackay Police and QAS were contacted to search for a man who was believed to have been bitten by a snake while pig hunting.

A Mackay Police spokesman said the man called his wife to let her know he had been bitten by a snake and she then notified emergency services at about 7.15am.

RACQ CQ Rescue was then called to search for the man at 8.10am after QAS and police were unable to locate his whereabouts.

They were stood down soon after when the man came walking out of the bush and was safe and well.

It is believed the snake had bitten the man's footwear.
