Man refused bail after claims he attacked Good Samaritans

A 21-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly assaulted two men who tried to help him after he was involved in a crash on Moore Park Rd at Gooburrum on Wednesday was refused bail on Thursday.

Darren Christopher Broom's faced the Bundaberg Magistrates Court charged with two counts of assault.

Defence lawyer Gavin James said his client had felt threatened after being approached by two men.

However, as Broom had been granted bail in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday on a charge of grievous bodily harm, Magistrate Aaron Simpson deemed he was an unacceptable risk of re-offending or failing to appear.
