Man stabbed, gun in Maccas carpark after fight

ONE man was stabbed and another assaulted after a fight broke out inside a McDonald's fast food outlet on the Gold Coast.

Fairfax reported the fight erupted after an ice cream cone was thrown at a car.

Police said the melee started with a verbal argument between two groups of men inside the Burleigh Heads outlet on the Gold Coast Highway around 11pm.

"Around 11.15pm the two groups - comprising of two men and four men respectively - met up again in the car park,'' police said in a statement.

"During this time it will be alleged a 26-year-old Robina man sustained a stab wound to the back and a 33-year-old Mudgeeraba man was struck in the face."

A firearm was also produced during the row and was located in the car park when police arrived.

Police said all four men from one group fled on foot and following extensive patrols by police were arrested in various nearby locations.

The 26-year-old man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening injury.

Four men, aged between 17 and 21, were assisting police with their investigations.
