THE streets of the South Burnett have come to life, as they do every December, as households strive for the title of the best Christmas lights display in the region.

There are 56 light displays in the 2018 Christmas lights competition hosted by the South Burnett Regional Council.

Judges will be visiting the displays from 7pm -10pm until December 10 before the grand prize of a family holiday to Singapore is awarded to the winner.

The council will also award $100 for first place and $50 for second place for the best urban and rural displays in Kingaroy, Nanango, Blackbutt, Wondai and Murgon.
