Mayor's Charity Ball to be a night of fine food and fun

THE South Burnett community is invited to the biannual Mayor's Charity Ball.

The 2019 Kingaroy Super IGA Mayor's Charity Ball, Country Meets City, will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on Saturday, June 8.

Mayor Keith Campbell said this year's nominated charity would be the Red Earth Community Foundation South Burnett.

"(They) will invest the donated funds in resilience, leadership and capability building programs and new initiatives that strengthen the overall social and economic capability of the South Burnett and its residents,” Cr Campbell said.

The ball will include forecourt entertainment by MisFitz before the sit-down dinner which will feature some of the South Burnett's finest food.

Entertainment during the evening will be provided by comedian Joel Ozborn and the band Franky Smart.

"There will be a short fundraising auction and plenty of time for dancing and socialising,” Cr Campbell said.

Tickets for the event are on sale through the council's customer service centres.

"I encourage the community to support this local charity by enjoying a night of fine food and fun,” he said.
