Mobros and Mosisters together for men's health
IN THREE days Movember will draw to a close for another year and blokes around the South Burnett have been busy raising money and awareness for men's health.
The staff at Ken Mills have raised about $1300 so far.
Ryan McCabe is leading the charge with a very respectable flavour-saver.
"There's some really horrible mos floating around,” Mr McCabe said.
It's the first time the Ken Mills Toyota team has joined in the furry fun.
"I think it's just a good cause, everyone's been touched by suicide, cancer and men's health issues in general and us as men don't talk about,” Mr McCabe said.
Just having the moustache crawling along his top lip has got the bloke talking.
"It being there keeps you thinking about Movember and you have that constant awareness of men's health and what Movember means,” he said.
Not all mos are created equal though.
"Chris Geiger has 11 or 12 hairs growing on his top lip, we're counting them,” Mr McCade said.
The Cherbourg Police Station team is also pushing through the shaggy shame.
The team has raised $400 and is on the hunt for more.
Senior Constable Anton Santa Cruz said he was happy with the effort so far.
"We're going pretty well, all sorts of people and a lot of the officers around have been donating,” Snr Const Santa Cruz said.
Unfortunately, Snr Const Santa Cruz's mo doesn't match his enthusiasm.
"It's pretty shocking,” he said.
Luckily officers Matt Donaldson and James Hutchinson are keeping the team strong.
"They've been our mentors,” Snr Const Santa Cruz said.
The effort has drawn mixed feedback from younger members of the Cherbourg community.
"A couple of the kids have been saying we need to have a shave,” Snr Const Santa Cruz said.
