Splendour in the Grass entirely sold out in record time

THAT'S a wrap, Splendour is all sold out.

All the three-day passes and most of the single day passes were gone within half an hour, but 10 minutes later they were all gone.

It is thought to be the fastest Splendour has ever sold out.

Triple J is reporting that North Beach Camping tickets were sold out within five minutes of Moshtix opening the online doors at 9am.

Hoping for a second chance? Resale tickets will go on sale from June 1.

Best Splendour in the Grass tickets sold out within 35 mins

THOUSANDS of disappointed music fans will now begin complaining on social media, after the most sought-after tickets for Byron Bay's Splendour in the Grass festival were snapped up in less than an hour.

The tickets to the enormous festival -- headlined this year by British rockers Blur, Florences and the Machine and chart conquering producer Mark Ronson -- went on sale at 9am.

Within 35 minutes, the $372 three-day passes had sold out, along with all camping tickets and day-only tickets for Saturday.

For those trying to rush the site first up this morning, ticket-seller Moshtix herded users into a "Green Room" where they remained until the site was able to handle the traffic.

The festival is notorious for selling out almost without fail each year, with the three-day passes generally the first to go.

Given that drawcard Mark Ronson's hit Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars is now among the top singles of all time, it's no surprise that fans were particularly quick with their credit cards this year.

Splendour will run from Friday July 24 to Sunday July 26 at the North Byron Parklands.

In 2014, more than 25,000 attended the festival, with about 17,000 choosing to camp on the grounds.
