Motorcyclist airlifted after hitting kangaroo
A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted from Durong this morning after an accident involving a kangaroo.
The 52-year-old man from Burnett Heads sustained a suspected lower leg injury on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road.
The patient was treated at the scene of the accident by a CareFlight doctor and a flight paramedic.
The man was then flown by the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter to the Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
